Geography at St. Katherine's School

Course description

Geography at AS and A2 follows the AQA Geography Specification. The course examines the interaction between the human and the physical world.

The AS course covers topics such as:

*Rivers, Floods & Flood Management

*Coastal Environments

*Population Change

*Food Supply Issues.

Students also have the opportunity to partake in a residential field trip at AS Level.

At A2 there is the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject. The A2 units we cover are:

*Plate Tectonics & Associated Hazards

*World Cities

*Globalisation & Development

*Ecosystems: Change andChallenge.

Entry requirements

The A Level course is linked closely with the GCSE course studied at St Katherine’s. Students are advised to have obtained at least a grade C at GCSE Geography and Maths.
