Course description

Psychology is the study of human thinking patterns and behaviour and as such is a valuable science to support any job where you are working with other people or dealing with the public. An aspect of psychology forms part of many university courses. Most students find the study of human behaviour fascinating and the course includes opportunities for practical psychological investigations. In the first year you will encounter fifteen studies representing five key areas of Psychology. In the second year Forensic Psychology looks at the criminal mind and persuasive behaviours in court cases, while Health and Clinical Psychology covers the causes, diagnosis and treatment of disorders such as stress and bi-polar conditions as well as looking at government action on how to keep the nation healthy.

Entry requirements

Five GCSE A* - C grades including Maths and English at grade B or above.

Future opportunities

Higher Education/Employment.A Level Psychology is widely accepted by Higher Education Institutions and provides a pathway into most subject areas.
