Nail Technologies - Level 2 City & Guild Diploma at Middlesbrough College

Course description

This course is for anyone aspiring to become a beauty therapist/ nail technician. It will cover practical and all aspects of theory, with an assignment to cover each unit. You will practice treatments within our modern ‘Tees Style Two’ commercial beauty salon. You may have the opportunity to undertake additional optional qualifications (this may incur an additional cost). This course may include 9.00am starts and a late night.

Course content

Units studied:- 201 Working in Beauty Related Industry 202 Health and Safety 203 Client care & communication in beauty related industries 204 Provide facial 205 Promote products & services to clients in a salon 207 Provide manicure services 208 Provide pedicure services 210 Provide eyelash & eyebrow treatments 212 Create an image based on a theme, within the hair & beauty sector 213 Display Stock 214 Provide nail art 215 Provide & maintain nail enhancements 216 Reception English and Maths (4 hours per week, required for learners who have not already achieved ‘C’ grades or above) You will attend 6 hours of theory sessions a week You will attend 8 hours of practical sessions a week

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs grade C or above including English "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."

Assessment

Theory 13 Assignments/Exams Practical 37 assessments (A minimum of 5 client’s required) Functional Skills 1 For each Functional skill
