This is a course designed for anyone considering a career in health and social care.
It will provide pathways into the sector for school leavers, unemployed, people returning to work after a career break or anyone else considering a career in health and social care.
There are no formal entry requirements but a reasonable standard of literacy is required to complete the course. An enhanced criminal records disclosure is required before students undertake work placements. Learners need the qualities required to work within a health and social care setting.
The course is based on continuous assessment throughout the year.
Assessments may include: Posters, leaflets, field trips and written accounts.
Learners who successfully complete the course may be able to progress to Level 2 programmes within college. Those who wish to enter employment may apply for supervised positions in the workplace.
