Performing Arts BTEC Extended Certificate Level 2 at Fareham College

Course description

This Level 2 course in drama and performance will provide you with an excellent foundation in performing arts and will lead you into related work or further study at Level 3.

Your classes will take place in the College’s dedicated performance studios and the Fareham College theatre where you will explore a wide variety of approaches to acting and the world of performing arts.

We will help you to develop your performance skills including voice and speech, singing, movement and musical theatre. Workshops will also be provided by visiting performing arts professionals.

You will have many opportunities to get involved in productions and to see professional stage shows, both locally and in London.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade D or above and an audition of 2 minutes demonstrating your practical/performance skills.

Financial information

There will be a small studio fee which will be notified upon application.

Future opportunities

You may wish to progress to Level 3 Performing Arts to develop your skills and creative expression further. This will give you more experience and open up more opportunities for a career in performing arts.

Working in the performing arts is very competitive, but professional careers for talented young people are achievable.

Further information

Students may be required to attend rehearsals outside the regular timetable.

As part of your course you will perform in theatres, arts centres and go on tours.
