BTEC First Diploma in Travel and Tourism at Feltham Community College (School)

Course description

The qualification provides a preliminary vocational education and training for those interested in the travel and tourism industry. It has a strong business and customer service element, making it suitable for learners who wish to enter into employment, but also provides a strong basis for progressing to further education or training. The course consists of three core units and three specialist units, which provide a total of 360 guided learning hours. The nature of the course allows you to study other subjects alongside your BTEC First Diploma.

The BTEC First diploma in Travel and Tourism can be used by successful candidates as a stepping stone towards entering initial employment in positions such as passenger check in officer or tourist information centre assistant.The achievement of the BTEC First Diploma has the equivalence of 4 GCSEs graded A*-C. If you achieve an overall pass grade or better in the BTEC first Diploma in Travel and Tourism, you can progress to further studies by enrolling on another Level 2 programme, or move on to a higher level qualification such as a Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Travel and Tourism.
