Art & Design BTEC Level 1 Diploma at South Cheshire College

Course description

The Level 1 in Art and Design offers learners the chance to explore art and design skills through a range of subjects and no previous art experience is required. It will help build confidence, skills and abilities enabling the learner to to progress on to further Art and Design courses. Your progress will be assessed through a range of methods including practical artwork, presentations and discussions. This will give you the opportunity to share your ideas visually, verbally and in written form. What does it cost? Course materials cost approximately £40.00 per term for art materials and sketchbooks. You will be provided with a specific ‘Kit List’ once you have successfully been offered a place on the course.

Learners are able to gain further skills by undertaking Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSE grades E – G including English and Maths or equivalent. No previous art or design experience is required.

Future opportunities

Students who complete this course can progress on to a Level 2 Art and Design course.
