Course description

St George’s Art Department has a broad and balanced curriculum that is rich and varied, challenging and inspiring, which enables every individual to achieve her or his potential to the highest possible standard. Studying AS and A level Fine Art will help you to develop intellectual, imaginative, creative and intuitive skills. We study the Fine Art OCR syllabus, for both AS and A2 level.

Students are marked against the OCR criteria which includes artist influences, development/experimentation, recording the final realisation. In Year 12 the coursework theme is Identity and in Year 13 students produce a Personal Investigation. The examination topic is released to students each February and results in a 5 hour exam in Year 12 and 15 hour exam in Year 13.
