Course description

If you enjoyed chemistry at GCSE, you’ll love this A/AS level course. Chemists have greatly improved the quality of life for the majority of people. Our A Level course is underpinned by the practical skills that we call ‘How Science Works’. You also find out how chemists are real innovators, designing solutions to the problems that affect modern life.

Entry requirements

BB for Double Science and grade B for Math’s

Assessment

AS Chemistry: Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be one and a half hour exams. These papers will assess topics 3.1 to 3.3 (AS level content only).
A2 Chemistry: This will include three written papers each lasting two hours. These papers will cover topics 3.1-3.3 (AS and A level Content)

Future opportunities

Chemistry is a great choice of subject for people who want a career in health and clinical professions, such as medicine, nursing, biochemistry, dentistry or forensic science. It will also equip you for a career in industry, for example in the petrochemical or pharmaceutical industries.
