Further Mathematics at Stanborough School

Course description

It is possible for students to extend their study of Mathematics by taking AS or A2 level Further Mathematics in addition to the standard A level. This course deepens students’ understanding and knowledge of both pure and applied Mathematics and is suitable for those who wish to study maths-based subjects at university such as Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Physics and Mathematics itself. It will provide a chance to study new and more sophisticated mathematical concepts and enable students to show themselves as able mathematicians for the top universities and the employment market. This course can only be taken in conjunction with AS/A2 Mathematics. A strong commitment to the subject is required and it is desirable for prospective students to be expecting to achieve a strong grade A or A* at GCSE.
