Procurement Apprenticeship Level 3 at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College*
Within the level 3 Procurement Apprenticeship, the learner will be in a supervisory role and be involved in a purchasing function. Potential learners will be trainee buyers just starting their career in a procurement and supply environment, or will be a purchasing/procurement assistant. This would also suit learners with delegated procurement responsibilities who work outside of a formal procurement and supply environment.
There are a range of mandatory and optional units for the competence element, which will be chosen in conjunction with the assessor, employer and apprentice. These will be directly relevant to the job role of the apprentice and will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence. Throughout the CIPS qualification, there will be mandatory units, leading to both online and written exam papers.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, although excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential in this area. Learners will be required to be professional body members of CIPS in order to sit the exams.
The apprenticeship will take a minimum of 12 months to complete. Apprentices are required to complete their training within the workplace where an assessor will visit them and support their progress through on-site assessment. The learner will study towards the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Advanced Certificate.
On completion of level 3, learners can progress to the CIPS Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) Level 4 qualification and through to Level 6 and MCIPS.
