Business Studies at The Castle School

Course description

Students who want a genuine insight into the world of business should consider this course. It will examine critically the aims, objectives and practices of business organisations from their economic, environmental and social aspects. These issues will be considered from the point of view of the nation, local community, industry, proprietors, management and employees of industry and consumers. It provides a good basis for a variety of careers in commerce, economics, management, accountancy and administration. Success will require keeping up with business news, current affairs and a great deal of wider reading.

The Business Studies course has been designed to provide candidates with a critical understanding of the internal functions of contemporary business organisations of all types, the dynamic external environment within which businesses operate and the effects this can have upon decision-making.

Entry requirements

5 grade A* - C GCSEs, including Mathematics and English.
