Chemistry at Marlwood School
Course description
Chemistry is the study of substances - new substances, old substances, useful substances, dangerous substances, life-giving substances, everyday substances, exotic substances - in fact any substance you care to name.
Chemistry explores the behaviour of substances through their interaction with each other and with energy - there is a lot of practical work involved in this. Chemistry will make you think - logically, imaginatively, accurately and critically. You will develop new ways of describing and exploring what Chemistry is all about, BUT NO PAIN, NO GAIN!
Chemistry will require you to develop and refine your communication skills. You will need to be able to talk your way into, and out of problems, select and use appropriate information, and present it in suitable ways.
