DT Product Design at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar Alford - A Selective Academy
Students who have an interest in designing and making products using mainly resistant materials in the workshops would enjoy this course (woods, metals and plastics). There is also an opportunity to work with a range of modelling materials. Work will include a mix of gaining theoretical and practical knowledge, particularly skills in working with materials mentioned above. The use of CAD/CAM is an essential part of the course.
To enter the Sixth Form, pupils should normally have achieved a minimum of 8 GCSE passes including English and Mathematics at grade C or above. For A level study, students should usually have a grade A or above (and at least a B) in the subjects they wish to study.
