Course description

This course is part of the AIM Awards Qualification Suite: Skills for Employment and Further Education. It is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to progress on to a Level 3 course. It will enable you to develop skills and gain a range of qualifications essential to further study or employment.The subjects you will study include:- GCSE English - GCSE Mathematics- Information Technology (ITQ)- Skills for Employment and Further Learning (SEFL)- Law- Business finance- Creative writing skills- Politics- Psychology- Career Planning- Study skillsYou will need to attend College for 3.5 days each week.

Course content

This course is for you if you have been out of education for at least 12 months and would like to develop the skills necessary to motivate and enable you to progress onto a Level 3 programme of study.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, you must complete an initial assessment prior to course interview and be able to commit to 12 hours per week in college and a further 6 hours per week in your own time.

Assessment

The course is assessed through a mixture of portfolio evidence and written formal examinations.
