Performing Arts BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Adeyfield School

Course description

To encourage students to take an interest in the Creative Arts Industry and enable them to develop skills and knowledge of the requirements needed to pursue a further education course in this field or a career in this industry.

Course content

The course has two mandatory units – these are:

  1. Performance Workshop
  2. Performing to an Audience

There are also a number of optional units that students can take. In the past students have developed their skills in:

  • The Performing Arts Business
  • Improvisation
  • Theatre in Education
  • Site-Specific Drama
  • Contemporary Theatre Performance
  • Stand-up Comedy

There may also be the opportunity for students to undertake movement and voice classes.

Assessment

Assessment on this course is through practical tasks. Students are given an assignment brief with clear instructions about what is needed to achieve. Assessment is internally assessed and externally verified.
