Animal Management BTEC Diploma Level 3 at St Helens College

Course description

This advanced level course is suitable for those who have a real desire to succeed in the animal management industry and wish to gain a scientific, theoretical and managerial understanding of animal care.

Course content

During this course you will study a variety of units such as:

  • Animal health
  • Animal feeding
  • Wildlife rehabilitation
  • Animal handling
  • Concepts of animal behaviour
  • Animal biology and anatomy

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at grade C or above, including English, maths and science.

English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.

Assessment

You will be assessed by assignment workshops and practical observations.

Financial information

f you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2016), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to seek employment within a zoo, wildlife conservation park, veterinary nursing or animal rescue centres.

Alternatively, you may wish to enhance your knowledge further by continuing your studies with the extended level 3 qualification.
