Entry to the Uniformed Services Level 1 Diploma at Aylesbury College

Course description

This is an ideal qualification for school-leavers interested in a career in any uniformed service.

Course content

The qualification aims to provide an opportunity for those with an interest in a uniformed service to explore this area of employment in a practical way. The course will develop your skills and personal qualities in preparation for all areas of employment and provide a basis for further study and motivation towards career development. It also offers the opportunity for you to develop problem-solving skills, team-working and key skills.

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs and/or Entry Level 3 qualification. Able to demonstrate subject interest . All applicants will be interviewed for entry onto this course.


Assessment is via an internally assessed portfolio. You must successfully complete six mandatory units and one of two optional units to complete the qualification.

Future opportunities

Following successful completion of this course students can progress onto the Level 2 Public Services course.

This course provides a base for further qualifications to help you reach your chosen role in the Uniformed Services.
