IT Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma at St John's Marlborough
Cambridge Technicals offer creative and inspiring vocational qualifications to give a high quality, work focused alternative to A Levels. They are for students who prefer to study IT in a context that allows them to learn and be assessed in ways that are practical and relevant to the IT sector.
They have been developed in partnership with key employers in the IT industry and have designed a challenging Level 3 IT qualification which develops transferable skills that are essential in the workplace or in further study.
This qualification is designed to give learners a range of specialist knowledge and transferable skills in the field context of applied IT, providing them with the opportunity to enter an apprenticeship, move directly into employment, or progress to a related HE course.
The IT Tech Level qualification is one of the three components of the new Technical Baccalaureate (TechBacc). The TechBacc consists of a Tech Level qualification, an approved Level 3 maths qualification and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
GCSE ICT or Computing is desirable but not essential.
It is targeted at students aged 16+, and there are two compulsory externally assessed plus a choice of three further units, which are internally assessed, that make up the qualification.
