Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Knowsley Community College

Course description

This course is ideal for students who have a keen interest in the Travel and Tourism industry as it will enable you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the sector. This course has been designed in order to meet the needs of candidates who work or want to work as a Holiday Centre/Worker Manager, Holiday Representative, Tour Guide, Tourist Information Centre Assistant, Travel Agent. You will have the opportunity to take part in educational trips and visits to local and European tourist attractions. Recent visits have included Disneyland Paris, London, Alton Towers, John Lennon Airport, Liverpool Museums and Art Galleries, 'Farmegeddon' and city centre restaurants.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D, one of which must be English and / or Maths, or Pass / Merit in relevant L1 Vocational Qualification (Merit for BTEC courses), and working at Functional Skills L1 and/or Maths or IT as appropriate to the course.

Financial information

You will need a pen, paper and files. You may also need to purchase a travel atlas, available through the section, to help you with your studies.

Future opportunities

This course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs grades A to C On completion you should be able to progress onto our Level 3 Diploma for Travel and Tourism Professionals course or the BTEC Level 3 in Travel & Tourism. As this is a recognised course to employers you could also seek employment within the Travel and Tourism Industry.
