Course description

Would you like to understand more about how the universe was created? Or maybe why a racing bike can now be made out of material that allows you to lift it with one fi nger?

The AS Physics course is relevant to the new AQA GCSE science course which makes the course accessible in its approach to today’s physics. The many areas covered on the course prove interesting to a wide range of students, whatever their academic strengths.

The course challenges students’ understanding of physics, through using materials that are up to date, presenting physics as a diverse subject with many everyday applications, as well as considering developments in physics for tomorrow.

The Advancing Physics course comprises two pieces of coursework and fi nal exams. The use of computers and practical work ensures that lessons are varied and interesting. A Level Physics is not only for future scientists, but is a sound qualifi cation to gain for any future career. In fact, Physics will open doors to many university courses and a wide range of exciting careers!

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths.
