Course description

Practical and theory aspects of removal and re-fitment of light vehicle body panels.  Repairs to body panels. Motor vehicle construction and layout of major vehicle systems and components. Use of measuring instruments required in vehicle body repair. Removal and re-fitting of vehicle components and units. Health and Safety awareness in motor vehicle repair work shop. Working within groups and as an individual. Responsibility for personal actions taken. 

Entry requirements

The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification to support progression from a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship.  

Applicants should expect to obtain or have GCSE's at Grade D or above, in English, Mathematics, Technology and a Science. But more importantly they must want to pursue a career in the vehicle repair industry.

Future opportunities

The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification progression from Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship and fully qualified status as a Vehicle Body Technician.  With further training, you could continue to develop your career into workshop MOT Tester, Supervisor or Manager.  The course is work-based which means you can earn and learn at the same time whilst developing the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers are looking for.

      This site now covers over 5 acres, having an impressive complex of eight workshops and associated classrooms, a Management Training and Business Studies unit.
