Economics (AS) at Cheslyn Hay Sport & Community High School
AS and A2 units and content: Economics is the study of how the modern world works. How is the wealth of a nation generated, and who benefits from this? What has caused the recent credit crunch and what will be its effects and consequences? Are taxes too high? Why are health care and education provided ‘free’? What is inflation? Should our economy be more like America’s or more like the rest of Europe? What is globalisation and what are its benefits and problems? Why are some people rich and others poor? What can be done about climate change? These are all economic questions.
