Health & Social Care BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate at West Cheshire College

Course description

This course is an ideal starting point and is designed to prepare you for a career in caring for others, including children, people who have a physical or learning disability and the elderly. The vocational focus looks at the skills necessary for assessing client needs, providing practical care and cultural diversity. You’ll also have the chance to gain some invaluable vocational experience by undertaking a placement in a real care setting.

Course content

You will gain the skills necessary for assessing client needs, providing practical care, you will gain vocational hands-on experience in a real care setting.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and maths, or successful completion of a Level 1 programme, such as the health and social care course with Level 1 English and maths. You will also be required to have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.

Assessment

You will be continually assessed throughout the programme.
