Course description

The course for you if ...

You want to become more independent across a variety of areas, including: communication, enterprise, numeracy, confidence and travel skills.

Course content

Our comprehensive programme ensures you’ll also be introduced to work-based training through enterprise projects. You’ll work with fellow students in teams to solve problems with real experience. Working with others in a realistic enterprise environment, such as a project where you and other students will run a tuck shop, involving social interaction, an understanding of the importance of customer service and handling money, providing you with basic work-ready skills.

This course offers you the opportunity to develop your individual potential to better understand personal choice, responsibility and to improve personal effectiveness.

All students on the Personal Development Opportunities course participate in an introduction to travel skills programme promoting greater access to the wider community.

Entry requirements

You don't need formal education requirements to join this course. Places are offered following a successful link/assessment visit or an informal interview with the course leader.

Assessment

You'll be assessed during classroom activities throughout the programme and through a range of real-life experiences.

Future opportunities

You may be able to progress onto a course here at TyneMet College or an outside agency.
