Chemistry A-Level at The Clarendon Academy

Course description

Module: Paper 1

In this module you will learn about relevant physical chemistry topics and inorganic chemistry. Also relevant practical skills. (35% of the total A Level marks)

Module: Paper 2

In this module you will learn about relevant physical chemistry topics and organic chemistry. Also relevant practical skills. (35% of the total A-Level marks)

Module: Paper 3

Summary of all content and practical skills (30% of the total A-Level marks)

Career Pathways

Analytical science, biochemistry, biomedical science, environmental science, forensic science, natural resources, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, research and development, teaching, veterinary science.

Entry requirements

In the first year of the Sixth Form, students are expected to follow at least 3 subjects. Most will choose 4.

A minimum of 5 grade Cs are required to undertake A Levels and a grade B is recommended in your chosen subjects;  A ‘B’ grade is essential in Chemistry GCSE to take this subject at A Level.
