Little League Sports at South Wirral High School

Course description

Working in partnership with South Wirral High, LLS have developed a dream sports course open to males and females aged 16-19.As part of the Sixth Form curriculum, students with a passion for sport have the opportunity to study on a 1 or 2 year coach education programme and gain both FA and NVQ qualifications. In addition, aspiring coaches will also attend weekly work placements in local primary schools and at sporting events. A combination of fantastic qualifications and excellent work experience sees students gain direct job introductions to employers in the UK, USA and beyond.

Course content

• The course is a full time option and combines education with work experience

• Trainee coaches are taught by the LLS coach education tutors at South Wirral High throughout the duration of the course

• Each week consists of 50% theory based learning and 50% practical lessons

• Trainee coaches receive a full LLS Warrior tracksuit, football kit and Enhanced CRB check- completely FREE of charge

• In addition, weekly work placements are conducted at a variety of venues such as: local primary schools, school holiday camps, football development centres and fund raising events

• All work placements are supervised by the multi award winning LLS full time sports coaches, some of which have successfully graduated from this unique programme themselves

• Trainee coaches have the chance to meet sports professionals as well as taking part in a number of coaching study visits

• On course completion, graduate coaches are introduced to sports industry employers and are presented with the opportunity of working in the USA and Canada with Challenger Sports
