Hairdressing City & Guilds Diploma Level 2 at East Berkshire College
This course covers all aspects of Woman's and Men's hairdressing. It would be an advantage for you to have work experience or a salon placement.
You are required to attend College 2 evenings a week for 1 academic year.
You will be working towards an VRQ Level 2 qualification on a fast track programme with an opportunity to progress to Level 3. Incorporated within the course are practical and theory lessons.
You will cover 7 mandatory units including: Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp, cut women's hair, cut men's hair and colour and lighten hair. You will also cover 4 optional units including: Plaiting and twisting hair and the art of dressing hair. All units are required for the full qualification.
- Applicants must be 16 or over and there is no upper age limit.
- Evidence of good education supported by school/college reports or successful completion of NVQ 1 Hair with a positive reference.
- 4 GCSE grade D including English Language and Maths.
- All applicants will need adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills. Suitable work experience/or skills may be considered
