Course description

Do you want to work in the Care industry - maybe Nursing or Child Care? This is an interesting and demanding course with a strong theoretical base that will help you prepare by equipping you with the communication skills, organisational ability and understanding of the core values of the care sector.


Course content

This is an ideal course to develop the skills needed to work in a care setting or go on to a degree programme in health and social care. Learn how to offer and promote quality care. Learn about effective communication, equality, diversity and rights and development through the life stages, as well as second year skills. Gain knowledge in Health and Safety, Anatomy and Physiology and sociological perspectives.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements for a Level 3 Pathway including a grade C in English or Maths and a grade C in Science GCSE or a Merit in Level 2 Science/BTEC or OCR or equivalent.


75% coursework and 25% exams that may include writing reports, researching and evaluating topics and case studies as well as creating presentations, designing posters and role play activities.
