Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (Early Years Educator) at Andover College

Course description

An interesting and exciting course that provides practical and theoretical training in the care, education and development of young children that provides access to a range of fascinating careers. This course will deliver a sound foundation of knowledge within the early years sector.

To be successful on this course you will need a desire to work with young children, enjoy their company, be very patient, work well in a team and take initiative. You will also need to be prepared to work very hard as the knowledge base required is equivalent to three A levels and professional status.

The course includes a period of time spent in the workplace in a range of different childcare settings. As well as work experience, students will learn the theory and the skills to offer children practical experience in the classroom. Our experienced lecturers deliver the course, including monitoring and supporting students in the workplace. Students participate in a variety of fund-raising activities as we value involvement in community events.

Assessment is carried out through written and online methods and the successful completion of workplace assignments. You will need good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise to succeed. If you wish to progress into higher education this course is ideally suited to Infant School teaching and early years degree courses.
