Business BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate at Wirral Metropolitan College
This exciting new course develops practical skills and builds knowledge and understanding of a range of areas within the business world such as finance, marketing and human resources.
Throughout the course, students are engaged in exciting Enterprise projects which enable them to improve their business skills as well as developing key employability skills such as teamwork and communication. A Student Enterprise Club is also available for students interested in developing this further and accessing support and advice on starting a business.
We work closely with the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to offer all our students the opportunity to gain insightful experience within a working environment. This is a perfect opportunity for them to experience working life within their chosen career path and add to their CV.

Evidence of GCSE for at least 4 subjects at grade D or above (including English Language) or successful completion of the Business and Enterprise Introduction Programme (Level 1).
Selection by interview and academic reference.
Regular attendance and commitment to the course is essential.
Before starting your course, you will take assessments in English and maths to make sure that you are working at the right level.
If English is not your first language, you may need an assessment before enrolling on this course.
Assessment will be carried out by completing assignments and external assessment.

Are you aged 16-18?
Study programmes are full-time courses for 16-18 year olds which include:
- A qualification such as BTEC Extended Diploma
- Meaningful work experience or preparation for work
- English and maths, if you don't already have GCSE grade A*-C in English and maths already
- Non-study activities such as tutorials, voluntary work, fund-raising/charity work, sport or trips
