Level 2 NCFE Diploma for Entry into the Uniformed Services at Telford College Of Arts And Technology - TCAT

Course description

This one-year course is designed to prepare young men and women
for employment into the public uniformed services careers. The daily
routine of the course includes drill and physical training followed
by a mixture of practical and theoretical sessions. Visiting speakers
from a range of public services provide up to date information about
career possibilities and the application process for their service.
Full Time Study Programmes are built around a collection of key
elements which all students benefit from, these include:
 
• Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
• English & mathematics qualifications for all students who have not
yet achieved A*- C grade in either subject
• Work Experience or External Work Placement which is planned
with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals
and ambitions
• Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
• A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader
skills, such as team work or communication

Entry requirements

4 GCSE @ D including English or Maths (or full Level 1 @ M or D including L1 F/S)

Assessment

Continual assessment through professionally based assignments

Future opportunities

Various full time roles within the Public Uniformed Services as well
as voluntary roles such as Special Police and Retained Firefighters.
Apprenticeship.

Further information

Students are required to purchase uniform and there are additional
costs for residential visits, expeditions, camping and various public
service experiences.
All students will be encouraged to participate in extracurricular
activities (trips and workshops) these will be at an extra cost.
 
Further Study
Progression on to Level 3 Public Service programmes.
