Business Level 3 Diploma/Subsidiary Diploma at St Francis Xavier's College

Course description

This is a course taught over two years. Students may take the BTEC in Business as either a Single Award or a Double Certificate (i.e. the equivalent of gaining two A Levels). The BTEC units have been designed to form a qualification which provides knowledge and understanding of this vocational area. They are ideal qualifications for those candidates who want a background in vocational business, allowing them to progress to further or higher education, training or employment. The course consists of four core units plus eight specialist units.

Core units:

* Exploring Business Activity
* Investigating Business Resources
* Introduction to Marketing
* Effective People, Communication and Information

Entry requirements

For the BTEC Business Double Certificate with one AS Level students require 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above as well as the entry requirement for their chosen AS Level.

For the BTEC Business Single Award with two AS Levels students require 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above as well as the entry requirement for their chosen AS Levels.

Pupils that have done GCSE Business Studies must have achieved at least a C grade. Students must show an interest and an aptitude for Business Studies.
