Computing at Rivington and Blackrod High School and Sixth Form
The course covers a wide range of Computing specialist areas including high level programming and fundamentals of Computer Science.
The course is broken down in to 4 units which are completed over 2 yrs.
5 GCSE's Grade 4 or above. In addition, you must have completed GCSE Computer Science at a grade 4 or above to access this level of course.
There are 2 examined units which are completed in Year 12.
On successful completion of the course you can expect to be able to apply for university to a wide range of IT and Computing courses where you can specialise in the areas you find most interesting. With future employment or apprenticeships, the focus on programming and IT based problem solving being your main areas. You will be able to apply to work in large organisations in a wide range of business sectors.
