Performing Engineering Operations EAL Level 2 Diploma at Derwentside College

Course description

The qualification ensures that the candidate has practical as well as theoretical knowledge of Engineering in their selected pathway.

The qualification is also recognised as a Technical Certificate for the Intermediate Apprentice Framework and partial units for the extended Diploma at NVQ 3 level.

Course content

This qualification covers the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices, including health and safety requirements and communicating engineering information.

It offers an extensive choice and flexibility for learners to demonstrate competence in one or more of a broad variety of engineering activities.

The qualification also caters for those providing technical support, including project planning and contributing to business improvement.

Entry requirements

To join a Level 2 course you will need either a Level 1 qualification or 4 GCSEs at Grade D which may include English Language, Maths or Science.

Assessment

The qualification is assessed by holistic assessment, portfolio of evidence (this could be electronic), verbal questioning, witness testimony and knowledge and understanding.

Future opportunities

Performing Engineering Operations at Level 2 forms a major component of SEMTA’s Engineering Apprenticeship Framework and allows progression onto a variety of other Level 3 Engineering related qualifications.
