Course description

Course content typically covers:

-Principles of anatomy and physiology in sport
-The physiology of fitness
-Assessing risk in sport
-Fitness training and programming
-Leadership in sport
-Principles and practices in outdoor adventure leading to an NGB qualification

This qualification leads on to the second year of study on the Extended Diploma in Outdoor Leisure.

Entry requirements

Four GCSE grades A-C, preferably including English, or an equivalent related qualification. An interest in outdoor and sporting activities is essential.

Assessment

All units will be internally assessed and externally moderated.
