Performing Arts Level 3 Extended Diploma at Lincoln College

Course description

If you want to pursue a career in performing arts then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress through the levels of performance, acting, dancing and singing. You will gain practical experience in musical theatre, dance, classical theatre, modern drama, technical theatre and multi-media performance. You will take part in several performances during the year, keeping a reflective journal of your progress, attend workshops held by visiting professional actors and learn from various trips to West End and touring professional shows.
Upon successful completion you may seek employment within a range of Performing Arts occupations or progress onto Higher Education or Drama /Dance Schools.
During this course, you will explore both theoretically and practically the following topics: learn lines, lyrics and choreography; rehearsal techniques and character development; theatre business; approaches to classical and contemporary performance; voice and movement techniques; audition techniques and solo and ensemble pieces

Entry requirements

You will need 5 GCSE’s including English Language (minimum Grade C) or equivalent qualifications. 
You will be required to attend an interview, where you have an audition. You are also required to provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).


Assessment is a combination of individual meetings and formal assessments, where work is submitted for grading.
