Course description

Do you want to set up your own business? Then our Level 3 BTEC is for you. Within a maximum of two years you’ll set-up and run your own micro-business.

Don’t worry you’ll receive plenty of support. We’ll teach you to manage the day-to-day but tricky challenges of business, such as supply chain management, customer communication, financial control, future growth planning and performance analysis. As well as running your business you will have a four-week work placement, where you will be given a project to manage and will develop your employability skills

Entry requirements

• A minimum of five GCSEs grade A*-C including English language, and

maths at grade D, or

• a level 2 qualification, a level 2 qualification in English and a level 1

qualification in maths, or

• in exceptional circumstances, an assessment indicating that you are able to

achieve level 2 in English and level 1 in maths, within one year.

For some courses you will need GCSE maths grade C or a level 2 qualification

in maths.

Learners aged 19+ without the above qualifications will have an assessment

to indicate the ability to achieve level 2 English and level 1 maths within one

year.

 

Assessment

You will be assessed through coursework.

Future opportunities

Dependent upon overall grade, options include: Higher Apprenticeship, Higher Education or Employment.
