Media Studies at The Beaconsfield School
The media is all around you - films, television, games, posters, websites and advertisements just to name a few. But do you really understand The Media? Are you an active or a passive recipient? Do you recognise when you are being manipulated? Media Studies is an exciting and interesting course that unravels some of these enigmas and prepares you to be an active participant in the information age.
Media Studies will help you develop a critical understanding of the media through engagement with media products and concepts and through creative production work. You will explore production processes and technologies and develop independent research skills.
Students should have achieved 7 A*- C grades at GCSE including English and Maths (not English iGCSE) to take this subject.
