French A Level at Lytham Sixth Form College

Course description

Language graduates are suited to a variety of communication-based careers, with the prospect of overseas travel adding an exciting dimension to this area of study. On this course, conducted almost entirely in French, students will have regular opportunities to develop and practise their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, while studying the following modules: Media; Popular Culture; Healthy Living/Lifestyle; Family/Relationships; Environment; The Multi-Cultural Society; and Contemporary Social Issues. Successful students can progress to a pure language(s) or linguistics undergraduate course, or they could widen their career scope with a combined honours degree that incorporates a discipline such as business, marketing or law.

Entry requirements

In order to study this A level programme students must gain 5 GCSEs Grade A* - C or an equivalent Full Level 2 including, English Language or Maths and to study this programme students must gain a grade B or Merit in French.

Assessment

A Levels are assessed by a mixture of coursework and exams.

You could be eligible for a 16-19 bursary to help with education-related costs.
