Opportunities exists to gain a selection of nationally recognised
industry qualifications, but additional charges may apply:
NPTC CS30 - Chainsaw maintenance Cross Cut and Stack
NPTC CS31 - Felling Small Trees
NPTC CS38 - Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue
NPTC CS39 Use of a Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness
NPTC - Woodchipper
NPTC CS30 PA1 and 6 (Knapsack sprayer)
Emergency First Aid
Usually at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above to include any 2 from English, Maths and Science with at least a grade D in the remaining subject. Alternatively a suitable level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English and Maths at Level 2

including Harvesting and/or Establishment, Woodland
Manager, Arborist - Lead Climber, Team Leader or suppervisor.
Many students enter the field of tree surgery contracting and
there are good career opportunities world-wide, especially in
Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
