Sports Coaching NCFE Level 2 Diploma at Walsall College

Course description

This qualification is for learners aged pre-16 and above and can form part of a study programme. It will give leaners the introductory skills to either start a career in sport. This qualification can also prepare learners for higher or further education and gives a good introduction to the sport vocation. The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:

  • choose a pathway and units that reflect their career or academic aspirations
  • enter employment in the sport and active leisure sector or to progress to higher or further education or onto the NCFE Level 3 Sport qualifications
  • gain and develop essential skills that are valued by employers and higher and further education institutions
  • develop knowledge and understanding of the vocational sector.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade D or above including maths and English. Initial Assessment and an interview, School report, Attendance 95% and Assessed piece of work.

Future opportunities

The next progression from this course is to the NCFE level 3 Diploma in Sports Coaching or BTEC level 3 Sport (Performance & Excellence).
