Professional Cookery Introductory Level 1 Diploma at Harlow College

Course description

This is a hands-on programme to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to be a professional chef. It will open doors to various sectors of the food industry and provide you with all the workplace essentials. Throughout the course you will gain high level cookery skills in our state-of-the art facilities, along with other fundamentals such as hygiene, health & safety, teamwork and customer care.

Course content

If you have a passion for food, are hard working and dedicated then our state-of-the-art professionally equipped kitchens and restaurant could be the perfect place to begin your training.

At least 4 GCSEs at Grade D or equivalent

Uniform, books and equipment - £280 Visits - £50 Locker - £10 You may be entitled to receive a bursary to cover these costs

Future opportunities

You could gain employment as a chef in hotels and restaurants at home or overseas. You could also progress to our VRQ 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery (merit). 98% of Harlow College students last year were employed within three months of completing their catering course.
