Team Leading Apprenticeship Intermediate Level 2 at Derwentside College

Course description

The programme provides qualifications, skills and knowledge which are transferable to all sectors of business and industry.

Course content

The Intermediate Apprenticeship programme requires achievement of the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading – combined (Competence and Knowledge) Qualification

  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT (Level 1)

  • Recognition of Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

  • Knowledge of Employee Rights and Responsibilities

Entry requirements

  • All learners starting an Intermediate Apprenticeship programme must be employed in the relevant vocational area at the start of their programme. 
  • An offer may be made subject to successful Initial Basic Skills Assessment which demonstrates at least working towards Level 1 Literacy, Numeracy and ICT. 
  • If the learner is assessed at below this level, an offer may be made on conditionthat the learner attends support workshops to achieve the required skills level.

Assessment

The qualification is continuously assessed through evidence from workplace activities and the building of a portfolio of evidence. 

Some elements of the course are assessed via successful achievement of workbooks and examinations.

Future opportunities

The aim of the programme is to enable apprentices to develop the skills, knowledge and experience that they will need to progress to higher level roles with additional responsibilities. It could also provide the opportunity to progress to Level 3 Management.

The programme can provide an excellent platform from which to develop your career, progress to an apprenticeship in management or pursue higher level vocational qualifications.
