Graphic Design Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma at Redbridge College

Course description

Are you bursting with creative ideas? Would you like to take your next step towards a career in the creative industries? This course will provide you with the essential skills you need to land your first job or progress to university.

Course content

Units you will study include:

  • Drawing skills
  • Design techniques and processes
  • Generating ideas and concepts
  • Visual communication
  • History of design
  • Photography
  • Animation and illustration

Entry requirements

You will need to have five GCSEs at Grade C, including maths and English, or a relevant BTEC Level 2 qualification. You will also be required to provide a portfolio of your previous graphic design projects. This can either be a hard copy, or a digital portfolio (saved on a CD/DVD or USB stick, or links to content online).


You'll be taught by our highly skilled team of staff who will pass on their years of industry knowledge and experience to you. Assessment takes place through a mixture of creative, practical and written projects.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you will be qualified to work in the creative industries at a junior level. You will also have the opportunity to further enhance your skills and knowledge by progessing to higher level study at university.
