French A Level at Parkside School
In A2 French, the topics recognise the increasing maturity of students and tackle ‘meaty’ issues such as multi-cultural society, the environment and social issues. Students also have the choice of studying either a period of history, a region or country plus a famous French cultural figure in greater depth, as part of their cultural topic.
Unit 3: Listening, reading and writing
Unit 4: Speaking test
Students can progress on to the A2 course if they gain a ‘D’ or above at AS
‘A’ level French students typically go on to do French at university, find work with tour companies and airlines, or within the fields of international business, law and teaching.
