Site Carpentry - Diploma Level 3 at Middlesbrough College

Course description

The course has a range of exciting content where you will have the opportunity to set out and construct roofs etc. Using advanced Site Carpentry skills as well as developing modern site practice and techniques as well as developing wood work machinery skills. You will learn and practice a range of advanced hand skills required for working with timber including the use of hand and power tools. Some learners from the course will be chosen to represent the college at local and national skills competitions.

Course content

Advanced setting out techniques Principles of construction and Project management Carry Our First Fixing Operations. Carry Out Second Fixing Operations. Set Up and Operate Cutting and Shaping Machinery. Complex Structural Carcassing Components. And Maintain Non-Structural And Structural Components.

Entry requirements

Level 2 in Site Carpentry "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."


Coursework, practical assessment and unit test paper and an online multi-choice exam.
