Apprentice Learning Mentors Apprentice at Sunderland College

Course description

To provide learning mentor support to students with learning difficulties and or disabilities, emotional and behaviour needs who are on mainstream or discrete College courses to integrate into the College environment.

To assist in the implementation of detailed assessments and monitoring and review of support strategies.

To escort and assist students including those with mobility difficulties to get into and around College, and to meet a range of personal care needs e.g. toileting, feeding in accordance with individual support plan.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team both in and outside of the classroom across all college campuses. They will support the educational and personal needs of students, all of whom have additional needs.

 

Entry requirements

A to C grades in English and Maths, a Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Youth work or Health & Social Care.

    • Washington Campus an award winning campus that is home to Washington Sixth Form and our higher education provision. Located between Gateshead and Washington it was built on the site of the former Usworth School. It was developed to cater for up to 850 people from in or around the Washington area.
