Course description

A-level languages build upon your existing knowledge gained at GCSE, giving you a sound understanding of using your language in a variety of contexts and situations - at home, abroad, with friends or in the workplace. The emphasis of the A-level language course focuses on improving communication in your foreign language through different means as well as being able to use it in a variety of situations, developing your key skills areas and most importantly to encourage you to fall in love with learning languages. Linguists are the second most employable graduates after medics. Studying a foreign language can lead to work in international business, law, management, marketing, publishing, journalism as well as living and working abroad.

At least a grade A in GCSE French

    • Turton Sixth Form is located on Chapeltown Road, Bromley Cross.  The college is across the road from Bromley Cross train station, and is on a direct line 8 minutes from Bolton.  Buses from Bradshaw, Sharples, Smithills, Edgworth, Belmont and Astley Bridge regularly run past the school.
