Public Services BTEC level 2 at Sir Bernard Lovell School

Course description

The BTEC First in Public Services provides you with the knowledge, skills and understanding you will need when moving towards a career in the uniformed services, such as the police, emergency fire service or prison service.

The structure of this course allows you to develop your interests and gain a broad foundation, and it introduces you to new areas such as citizenship, the individual and society, uniformed public service fitness or community and cultural awareness.

Future opportunities

This qualification can be a stepping stone for successful candidates towards entering initial employment as, for example, a police community support officer, an army soldier or a Royal Air Force airman/woman.

The First Certificate is worth 2 GCSE’s and can help you move onto Level 3 qualifications including AS / A level and Level 3 BTECs or another vocational programme.
